His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, participated in the UAE Thinkers Forum, which was held this morning at the St. Regis Resort on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, under the theme "Creative National Ideas 2025," with several ministers, high-ranking officials, and experts.
His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization; His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Media Council; His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi; and His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council, were among the prominent individuals who attended the forum.
His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan and His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi took part in a discussion on Emirati identity and national and international balance during the main session, which was moderated by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research.
His Excellency Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan clarified in his address that the term "identity" is derived from the pronoun "he," which conveys the core of something. Despite the wide range of demographics, His Excellency emphasized that the primary source of pride in and loyalty to national identity is the direction of the higher leadership. He emphasized the value of fostering fixed values like language, religion, customs, traditions, and social affiliation, as well as the responsibility of parents, families, and schools in helping young people internalize the culture of national identity and its principles.
His Excellency also emphasized the contribution made by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah bless his soul, to the development of the national identity. This is because the strategy of tolerance and rejection of racism, which is exclusive to the United Arab Emirates, is founded on the principles of solidarity, brotherhood, tolerance, and adherence to national values.
His Excellency emphasized the significant impact of social media on youth and the critical role education plays in fostering patriotism and national education culture.
The forum discussed topics like the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031, the transportation industry's future, the Emirati family and social transformations, challenges for small and medium enterprises, continuing education, the labor market, and aging society. It also highlighted the importance of national identity, social educational innovation, and policies for ethical AI use. The forum aimed to empower youth to build a sustainable society and achieve a balance between transformation and stability in education.
